Punjabi is the most widely spoken language in Pakistan , the eleventh -most widely spoken in India and spoken Punjabi diaspora in various countries. Punjabi is the official language of the Indian states of Punjab , Haryana and Delhi. Additionally , television channels in Punjab Province are broadcast in Punjabi

 How are You in Punjabi

Punjabi is spoken by so many different communities and different religious, I will discuss in belief how we greet each other in Punjabi.

 

Sikh’s Hello

 SAT SRI AKAL

When we see each other the first line of most of the Sikhs Or the people who belong to the Sikh religion. they say ” SAT SRI AKAL”.This resembles that the ”  God is the ultimate truth”. This is spoken by the Sikh most of the time.

 

Hindu Hello

 Namaste

And now we come to Hindu because so many Hindus speak Punjabi. And they see each other, what they say usually Salam-  that means peace and they reply with the same thing Salaam. They also say ” Namaste”  means “good day” or namaskar that means ” be Well “.

 

Muslim Hello

 Salam alaikam

Punjabi is also spoken by Muslims. they say  ” Salam alaikam” which meant “Peace be upon you”, and they reply with “wa-alekum asalam”  means greater peace upon you.

How Are You?

 tuhāḍā kī hāl he?

Now we have said hello now we move further and ask “ how are you” in Punjabi, we say like this ”    ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੈ? / تُہاڈا کی حال ہے؟
(tuhāḍā kī hāl he?)

 

I am fine

 Mai Thik han

then we generally reply with something like: “I am fine” In Punjabi, we say it like this  “Mai Thik han “/ ਮੈਂ ਠੀਕ ਹਾਂ

 

Good

 Wadhiya

some people do use this short answer, that means ” good”.

 

Doing fine

 Thik han

Some people also use this reply that means “. doing fine “
