Punjabi literally means who lives in Punjab ( Includes Indian and Pakistan Punjab ) or can speak Punjabi.Punjabi is the official language of the Indian states of Punjab , Haryana and Delhi.In Pakistan Standard Punjabi dialect is not called Majhi which is Indian terminology , in Pakistan it is simply called Standard Punjabi.People say that Punjabi , Bengali and Sikh are same because they all belong to or have their roots in Indian subcontinent. Since , Sikhism also originated in Punjab so most of the Sikhs today are Punjabi . Attend Sikh religious and cultural events , shop at Punjabi stores , eat Punjabi cuisine , make Punjabi – speaking friends , etc
